California/ Vegas trip - Part 1

We found tickets at an amazingly good price for spring break.  We were so excited for vacation.  Jerry didn't have any finals during winter mod. so we were able to leave during finals week and he still had 1 1/2 weeks of spring break left when we got home.  We flew out of Indianapolis EARLY on Tuesday morning.  I don't think any of us got much sleep that night.  Luke and Sydney got a little sleep on the plane, but somehow Hayden and Rebecca functioned on about 4 hours of sleep and a 3 hr time change.
We flew in to Ontario, CA.  From there we drove to Anaheim.  We made a little pit stop along the way.  I admit, Jerry and I are very silly.  Before we moved to Indiana we had a nightly date watching old episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 on TV.  (As fate would have it, the very last episode of the whole series aired -in reruns- on the last day that we had cable.  Coincidence?? I think not)  Ok, so yes, it is a silly show from the '90's but we like to be dorky together.  We decided that while we were in California we needed to do our very own 90210 tour.  We looked up the addresses of all the places that they filmed and chose a few that were close by and went and stalked. toured.
We saw Dylan's house, the Walsh house, and where the Peach Pitt was.  It has since been redone.  We didn't get any pictures there though.

This is Dylan McKay's house.  Can you feel the brooding rebel with loads of money emanating from the house??

And here is the FAMOUS Walsh house.  Yes, Where Brenda and Brandon lived.  And even after their parents(Jim and Cindy)  moved it turned into Brandon's bachelor pad with Steve Sanders.  It was pretty awesome.  It was a little smaller in person than it looks on tv.  And even these pictures make it seem bigger than it looked in real life.  We were hoping to see Brandon and his dad, Jim shooting hoops.  Ah, the memories.  (Yes, we are total dorks!)

After our "tour" we continued on to Anaheim and got checked into our hotel.  We went and played at Downtown Disney that afternoon/evening.  Nothing compares to the smell of that kettle corn popcorn as you walk into Downtown Disney.  Love that place.  We, of course, had to go to the Lego store.  Lots of creations were made.   Then we went to Build A Bear.  Each of the kids had saved up as much money as they could earn.  Rebecca and Sydney had no desire to check out all the different stores, they knew they wanted a build a bear.  Rebecca made a bunny named Lexie, and Sydney got a rainbow bear and named her Sparkles.  Hayden used his money to make his own light saber in the Star Wars store the next day.

Bathing their new stuffed animals

We went back and relaxed in the hotel for a couple hours.  Jerry's brother Brian and his family, and his brother Devin, and his parents also came to California to go to Disneyland with us.  We went to dinner that night at Bubba Gump Shrimp co. It was so great getting together with them.
Then we got back to the hotel to get ready for the next morning in Disneyland!
