Day 30 of Thanksgiving

Hmm, last day. I should be super profound and be thankful for something so monumental, but nope. Today I am thankful for crockpot meals. Yip, what a way to finish off the month huh. :) I love getting dinner ready in the morning when the kids are playing well with each other, and smelling it all throughout the day. I tried a new recipe today and I was excited about it. Too bad it didn't turn out well at all. I got it all ready and then noticed it was only supposed to be in the crockpot for 3 hours, not 6. The noodles were WAY overcooked. But still, I love crockpot meals.
(Sorry, I'm kinda brain dead - there are many other things I am thankful for but at least I've covered the main ones.)

Day 29 of Thanksgiving

Hmm, I'm kinda losing my creativity.
So here's something totally random. I am thankful for the simple pleasures of life, such as climbing into freshly washed sheets at the end of the day, having my hair played with, hearing that great song on the radio, the stars aligning at least 2 kids napping at the same time, playing games with my kids and hearing their laughs, perfect crisp spring or fall weather, and knowing you got a great deal on something you bought for Christmas.

Day 28 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for alone time. I know I mentioned this on my list of 10 things that make me happy, but I'm using it again. I love being with people, talking and laughing with them. But I also need time just to myself. Sydney was sick today. Nothing too major, but a really snotty nose and a bad cough so I knew I couldn't take her to nursery at church. She was so tired from partying all weekend and she slept through all of church. It was so nice to just have some time alone to think and just do what I wanted to do. I know, I'm probably crazy. But I feel like a little bit of alone time can help me rejuvinate so much.

Day 27 of Thanksgiving

I'm behind, so I'm catching up for a day again.
Yesterday I was thankful for babysitters. Nothing like a good night out with your hunny, knowing your kids are happy and in good hands. My kids LOVE having babysitters come. It's such a treat for them. Silly kids.

Day 26 of Thanksgiving

Hmm, am I running out of things??
Today I am thankful for those fun moments with my children/ family. We had a great day today. We of course hit the black Friday sales, but not super early. I was too tired from yesterday to get up early. We still got some good, fun things though.
I got a great nap today, and tonight we made some great memories.
We went to the Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolate Factory. It was beautiful. The kids loved it too. Then we headed over to the cheap movie theater ($1.50) and went to Dispicable Me. I loved it, it was a darling movie. It was one of those moments that I and my children will remember doing this holiday weekend for a long time. Going to a great movie with cousins. It helps that even the young children were pretty good, considering their ages.
Great day today!

Day 25 of Thanksgiving

I missed yesterday, because of all the busy, fun festivites. But yesterday and every day I am thankful for good, delicious food. Way too much of it.
We had a wonderful day yesterday that started with the East side Turkey Trot. I'll do a more detailed post on this later, but it was fun, and a great way to start the day.
Then we cooked the turkey and had fun hanging out while it was cooking. Our lunch/dinner was delicious and we had a great time having Joseph and Angela and their family here.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Day 24 of Thanksgiving

Today my brother Joseph and his wife Angela and their three adorable children came down to spend Thanksgiving with us. I am so thankful for them, and all of my siblings. I have been very blessed with 9 brothers and sisters and they are my best friends. I know there were times when I was younger when there were little tiffs, but really nothing major. And as we've grown up we all are still close. I am very lucky to have them all, and I look forward to getting together with them. Now, it is late because of so much partying and tomorrow is a big day so I'm heading to bed! 'night!

Day 23 of Thanksgiving

Today (and every day) I am thankful for this handsome man! Jerry is such a wonderful husband. I really lucked out on this one.One of the first things that attracted me to Jerry was his smile and his laugh. I was hooked right off the bat. (Ok, his nice shoulders, strong arms, smell, that also roped me) I always knew I would marry someone funny, that could make me laugh. That is an important trait to me. Life has trials, but I need someone that I can laugh with, even during those trials. Someone that I could have fun with doing just about anything. And I got him. I remember when we were dating we went to my apartment one Sunday night after church and made cookies and just hung out and laughed together. He stopped for a second and said, "You know, it's cool to think that this is how life could be for us if we got married. This is how I want it to be." Yes, it is cool.

Jerry is such a hard worker. He was born with an amazing work ethic, and I'm grateful for that. He works 10 - 12 hour days to support our family. I'm so grateful for that.

He is a wonderful father too. He takes the kids on one on one dates and they look so forward to their time alone with dad. All the kids, especially Hayden think Jerry is invincible. I fall in love with him more and more when I see him with the kids, playing with them, teaching them, and loving them.
I am so thankful for Jerry. He is so good to me and I'm so lucky to have him.

Day 22 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my education. I have the opportunity to tutor in my home, which I did today. I taught school for 5 years and loved it. (and hated some days too.:)) After I had Hayden I finished out the school year and then decided to stay home. I have done a lot of substitute teaching and tutoring since then though and I'm grateful for those opportunities. It is nice to bring in a little extra money, and it is also nice to feel "smart" in a way. It gets my creative juices flowing and I really enjoy it.

Day 21 of Thanksgiving

Today I am so thankful for music. I've always loved music, listening to it, playing it on the flute, singing, etc. I think it is a language that can share more than words alone can. There are many songs that just speak to my soul and I can listen to them and start crying for no apparent reason, other than the fact that it just speaks to me. (I know, I'm an odd one.)

Today was the primary program in our ward. I LOVE listening to children singing. Especially when children are singing church songs because they are just so simple and pure. I was so proud of Hayden and Rebecca. Hayden isn't a big singer. I'm not quite sure why, but I think he gets a little shy, maybe. he is getting better at actually singing with the other kids rather than just staring around and listening. When it was his turn to give his speaking part he was a pro!! I wondered if he might be too quiet, but he did great. Rebecca is a total singer. She was singing along with all the songs. When it came to her part she got shy and forgot her part, which is funny because she has had her part and Hayden's part memorized for weeks. She was great though.

Another reason I'm thankful for music today is that I was able to go to choir practice today. I know, maybe that's lame that I'm excited about that. I haven't been able to go for years because it was after church while Jerry was doing the tithing, and usually while one of the kids had to go to sleep so I couldn't go. Last year it was before church at 8:30 am, which I really could have gone, but the idea of staying in my jammies a little longer before meetings was more appealing. The ward started choir practice today and it was just great going and singing with a choir. We also sang a Christmas song, so that made it even that much better.

Yes, I am very thankful for music.

Day 20 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my health, and that I have improved my health with running. Yes, I've been sick, but nothing too major, and that is such a blessing. This year I have started running. I've run before, and I've done a couple 5K races. But I honestly thought it wasn't in me to run more than 3.1 miles. In January I started training for my first half marathon that was several months later. Running got in my blood, and I love it - for the most part. I did my first half marathon, the Hurricane Half Marathon in April. Then I ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar race in June. A few weeks later I ran another half marathon, The Farmington Half Marathon, in Utah. Last month I ran a 10K, and today I ran my third half marathon, The Valley of Fire Half Marathon.
Today I am actually most thankful for the fact that I finished the race today. Today's race was by far the hardest race I've ever done, and in fact, it was one of the most challenging physical things I've ever done.
We met up at my house at 5:15 this morning, after not sleeping well and having odd dreams of Beverly Hills 90210?? and racing all mixed together, and Sydney didn't sleep well either which didn't help. So I was up at 4:45 to get all ready.
Here we are getting ready to head out to Valley of Fire.

We got there and had a bit of time to get our shirts, stretch, and have many strangers come by and read our shirts and ask us about our "team."

On the front of our shirts it said, "I run because....." Then on the back we wrote our motivation. Mine said, "Ice cream tastes TOO GOOD!"

It was beautiful out there, but man, it was cold!! The wind made it even worse.
Here we are getting all ready for the race, getting bundled up in layers that we could remove if we got too hot once we started running.

And here is the nine of us ready to go!

Then we started. I felt great for about the first mile. There was a big hill but as we were going up it I told Marlo, "I guess I'd rather have a hill at the beginning to get it over with and I have more energy. And since this is a "there and back" race that means we get to go downhill at the very end." HA, why on earth did I think that would be the only hill. This race was SO hard!! There were SO many hills. I'd heard the course was very hilly, but I thought that meant rolling hills. nope these were steep, never ending hills. Up and down and up and down again. Constantly. You'd think the downhill part would be a nice break from the uphill, and a place to gain some speed, but the wind was so strong - especially on the way back - that even though it was slightly easier, it was still taking all I had to fight against the wind. I knew it wouldn't be a personal best time, but I still had a goal to run the whole thing. In my mind I was running hard, but to any onlooker I'm sure I looked like I was just walking up those hills and pumping my arms really hard. There was also a good 1 -2 mile stretch that was on loose gravel and sand. That was hard because I had to really stablize my foot so I wouldn't fall or twist my ankle. That didn't help either.
So, yes I am complaining a lot. But I am still so glad I did it, and I'm very proud of my performance, even if my time was not that great. I know I gave it my all and didn't give up.

Here I am at the finish line!!! I was so happy to see those orange cones. I am also so thankful once again for those "running buddies" that were there running with me, motivating me. It was the first half marathon for several of them, and I'm SO proud of everyone!!

Day 19 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my running buddies. (yes, I stole that word for word from you, Korina).
I started running and training the beginning of January with Korina and Kim. Slowly we gained a few more friends to join us on our Saturday runs. And now there is a wonderful group of 9 of us that will be running the Valley of Fire half marathon/ 5K tomorrow. We all went to dinner tonight to do our "carbo loading" and had fun laughing and talking. I was thinking today and realized that so far this year I have only missed a few Saturday runs with this group. Believe me, it is not easy waking up at 4:40 in the morning on a Saturday morning just so you can get out by 5 to beat the Vegas heat in the middle of July. It's also not easy finding friends that will all willingly go out early for a run just because you, one person, has to be back early for other obligations. But when I knew my friends were planning on me being there, and they were there for me, I couldn't let them down. It is very nice to be able to sleep in till 6:00 now on Saturdays now that it isn't so hot, and the sun comes up later. Thanks girls for motivating me and being fun chatting partners during a long run, and most importantly wonderful friends and support systems. Wish us luck tomorrow! (any guesses on what tomorrows post will be about?)

(p.s. if anyone is worried that I've given my hubby the shaft, don't worry. His post is coming soon.)
After our run last week we decorated our shirts for the race.

Monta provided breakfast for all of us! Delish!

Day 18 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my silly Sydney. This girl cracks me up, and she is so much fun! She thinks she is just as old as the other two and keeps right up with them. I think so far she is our biggest tease. The other two are very funny and keep us laughing, but Syd is such a tease. She gets this expression on her face that just cracks me up and you know she is teasing.
She's starting to say lots of words and can parrot pretty well. Our favorite is when she says the prayers. It can't be too long because Rebecca and Hayden start laughing because she is so cute. I love this little girl, and I'm so thankful for her!

Day 17 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my sweet, Hayden. He is such a good boy, and I just want to keep him this way forever. When I picked him up from school he was kinda down. I asked him what was wrong. Basically I had a mom fail today because today is library day. To earn the privilege of going to the library they students have to pass off all their sight words. Hayden and one other boy in the class are the only two that can go to the library at this point. Well, he brought home a book last week and we were reading it last night. After he read it I wrote it down on his reading sheet, and thought I had put the book back in his backpack. Nope, I hadn't. He didn't get to go to the library because I had forgotten to put it in his bag. He was sad. But this sweet boy was so quick to forgive. I apologized and he easily forgave me, and moved past it.
He has such a tender heart and looks out for others. He is the perfect child to have as an oldest sibling because he really takes care of his younger sisters, and LOVES them so much.
I'm so thankful for my boy Hayden.

Day 16 of Thanksgiving - My Sweet Rebecca turns 4

This beautiful princess turned 4 years old today. I love this little girl, and she is one of my greatest blessings. I am so thankful for her fun, spunky and lively spirit that she adds to our family.

We had a family birthday party for her on Saturday. She was so excited that everyone was coming over for her. Every time I'd sing Happy Birthday to her today she just lit up and enjoyed. Hmm, I wonder where she gets that from.

Rebecca is my Mini-me. Total strangers will see us in the grocery store and comment about how much she looks like me. I take that as a huge compliment because I think she is beautiful.

Here are a couple things about Rebecca at 4.
Favorite things to play
-Barbies
-"Mom and Dad" that is her term for playing "house" she loves it so much that even while I'm playing barbies with her we'll play "mom and dad" with our barbie characters. The only problem is that it is a game with no ending. If I have to stop to go about my chores she'll follow me and continue playing as I'm doing the dishes or whatever. Which is good, but there's only so much "mom and dad" a gal like me can play.
- Computer. This girl is amazing at figuring out the computer. She has such fun playing on the computer.
- Anything with friends. She LOVES friends. She is a social butterfly.
- "Storm" - this is a game Hayden and Rebecca made up. They get in their swim suits and play in the shower, yelling and screaming and splashing. I guess they think they are in the middle of a giant storm. Needless to say, it isn't my favorite game because it leaves a lot of water outside the tub, no matter how much they say they are trying to keep the water in.

Favorite clothes
- Dresses, dresses, dresses.
- underware, yip, usually as soon as we get home from anywhere she strips down to her undies to play at home. Yeah, we've got to work on that one.
- swimsuit.
- princess shoes on the wrong feet 95% of the time.
-Jammies -sometimes a couple within a day.

Favorite food
- hot dogs. She would eat hot dogs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I'd let her. I tease her that if she eats too many more it will make her turn into a hot dog. So if she's already had some for lunch and wants more she'll ask, "mom, if I have another hot dog will I turn into a hog dog maker?"
- yogurt. It's a good thing too because she WILL NOT take medicine. She throws it up, so I have to hide it in yogurt. Maybe that's why she likes it. She starts feeling better when she's sick, after eating yogurt. Hmm.
- popsicles. She thinks popsicles qualify as a meal.
-mini pancakes. Not the big ones, they have to be the small, mini pancakes.

Favorite shows or movies
-Phineas and Ferb
-Wow Wow Wubsy
-Any princess movie
- Caillou (yuck)

Other favorites
-Princesses, all the way. She knows everything about all the princesses. All the songs they sing, what they wear, everything.
-Stealing binkies from Sydney. Yes, it is still a battle we're having. Good news is that this morning she said, "Mom, now I'm four, and I won't steal Sydney's binky because I'm a big girl."
Bad news is that 10 minutes later I noticed she had sneaked under Syd's bed and found a binky.
-Singing. She loves singing, and I love to hear her. I especially love it when she makes up her own songs.
-Dressing up. She'll go through at least 3 outfits, or costumes each day. And sometimes those include Sydney's clothes.

Rebecca is such a dynamic personality and even though we do have our power struggles at times, I wouldn't change her at all. She knows who she is, and she knows what she wants. (Hence, the power struggles) She is SO much fun, and makes me laugh so hard. I love that girl so much. I'm so grateful she is mine to love forever.

Day 15 of Thanksgiving

As I've been sitting here at almost midnight wrapping up pears in gold tissue paper I wanted to write my Thanksgiving post on my gratitude for callings in the church. Hopefully my post from yesterday didn't sound too negative - I'm doing repair work:) Haha!
I am very thankful for callings in the church. I got released as the Relief Society president a few months ago with the realignment of the ward boundaries. It was bittersweet. I had been in that calling for almost 3 years, and it was a very challenging calling, especially considering the ages and needs of my children. It was a good time to be released. However, I loved those sisters, and I still do. There is a love that comes from serving others, and also the love from being served and helped by others. Through that calling, as with all callings, I grew and learned so much about the gospel and myself.
After I was released I noticed an immediate difference when the phone wasn't ringing with several "church calls". I'd grown so accustomed to it, that it was very odd when all the sudden it stopped. The first day it was so nice to not be needed all the time. But by the third and fourth day I though, wait, hmm, darn, I'm not needed. (Not really true, I know, it was just a little adjustment time - don't worry, I'm ok.) But it is nice to feel needed in the church, and it gives you a sense of belonging. I was then called to be the Relief Society Meeting Coordinator. (The calling formerly known as Enrichment Leader). Great, the one area that as Relief Society President I gave almost completely to my second counselor and the enrichment leader to take care of. I love going to a good get together, but planning it?! So out of my comfort area. That's what callings are for though, huh. We have our first Tuesday night Relief Society meeting tomorrow night. I'm so excited, and I think it will be such a great night. But man, thank heavens for Korina and Sis. Lunn cause I feel so out of my element and they are helping so much. So tomorrow I might be running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but I know it will be a great night where we can focus on the Savior and grow which is the wonderful thing about callings.

Day 14 of Thanksgiving

Hmm, it's late and I've got to get to bed, but I didn't want to skip my day of thankfulness. Today I am thankful for people lazy Sunday mornings and for the fact that Jerry isn't the finance clerk anymore. Church doesn't start till 1:00, and actually I hate the 1-4 schedule. It is awful with Sydney's nap schedule, and now with the time change, it's dark when we get out of church. But today, it was actually a nice lazy morning, and the kids were playing nice and happily with each other.
As far as part two of my thankful post. Jerry had been the finance clerk in our ward for over 5 years, so he has had to stay after church to do tithing for the last five years. Not a huge deal. And I wasn't upset about it, but it was sure nice today (even though he's been released for a few months already - it hit me again today) that he got to come home with us. AND I also realized today that it's getting close to tithing settlement time, and he won't have to be gone every Tuesday and Sunday night through Christmas! However - he does have another calling with even more time demands. But the Sunday meetings are before church, and when church doesn't start till 1:00 I can handle him being gone for a couple hours. NOW, in January when church starts at 9, and he's at meetings before church, and I have to get all three kids ready by myself and be on time - which we can't even seem to do now - then I won't be so grateful :P ) Just kidding.

Day 13 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for Jerry's siblings. I know I already mentioned his parents, but I also am thankful for his brothers and sister. We had a birthday party for Rebecca today (more on that in another post) and his family came over to wish her a happy birthday. We live a good distance away - not super far, but definitely not just down the street from them, and whenever we have a birthday party, if their schedules permit they come. That means a lot to us.
He has 5 older brothers and 1 younger sister. I come from a family of 6 girls, and we're all right in order. And I feel very lucky to be close with my brothers wives as well. So I hoped when I got married I'd have great sister in laws to be close to. Then I married into a family of boys, and when we married only one sister lived here in town, and no other sister in laws were in town. Luckily I got to know his sister, Bonnie and she is AWESOME, and I'm thankful for her. She has become a sister to me. I'm also very thankful for my other sister in laws in his family. Amy does live in town now and is so loving and fun. And Jennifer lives in AZ, but is just as loving and kind. They are wonderful to me too, and are AMAZING sisters too.
His brothers are great. I love them all. His brothers are the ones Jerry calls for advice and counsel. And MAN, they are so funny! If you want a good laugh, just play a game of Balderdash with his brothers. It's not so much about winning the game. After 2 rounds it becomes a game of who can write the funniest, most creative, or crazy definition. They are all very close and they mean a lot to each other. And they mean a lot to us. I'm grateful for that.

Day 12 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for Christmas and the Christmas season. I put up my Christmas tree today, and all the decorations. Yes, I know, I know. It's not even Thanksgiving yet. I can still celebrate Christmas with my tree up. :) I love the holiday season, the music, the smell of pine trees, fire, goodies cooking, all that good stuff, and especially the meaning of Christmas. I even love Christmas shopping with all the hustle and bustle. I had planned to take a picture today and put it on this post but never got to it. I'll post one soon. YAY for Christmas coming soon.

Day 11 of Thanksgiving

Happy Veterans Day.
Today I am so thankful for all those men and women who have served our country, to make life better for me and my family. I am amazed by the courage and strength of those who are willing to give everything, including their life to protect our freedoms. Thank you to all veterans, and those in the service. I am thankful for you!

Day 10 of Thanksgiving

I am thankful for the opportunity to be a mother. I don't know why I'm writing this today, because today has been a bit of a trying day to be a mother. But even in these days that are hard I wouldn't give it up for anything, even if Hayden has said jokingly, more than once this week, "Mom, we should just sell her at a garage sale." Speaking of one of his sisters and I PROMISE he didn't hear that expression from me or Jerry. For the record, I'd never sell one of my children at a garage sale.
I've always wanted to be a mother. When I was young and someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I'd answer, "a mother." At times I wondered if I should be embarrassed about that, because some people think that's not prestigious enough, or there's an attitude of "just" a mother - like it's not that important. I disagree! Not that I don't have other interests, or goals that I want to achieve in my life because I do. But the most important calling for me is to be a mother. It is such an important job, and that is probably why it is also one of the hardest, yet most rewarding jobs ever. Motherhood has brought more tears than anything else in my life. Tears of joy, of happiness, feelings of inadequacy, worry, frustration, amazement, and of love.
I hope I can do a good job raising these precious children, and I'm thankful and honored to be a mother.

Day 9 of Thanksgiving

Today I am so thankful for my mother and father in law. The first time Jerry took me to dinner at their house, 8 years ago they were so friendly and welcoming. I remember thinking that night, "I think they will be great grandparents for my kids." (This was before Jerry and I were engaged) And yes, they are great grandparents, and great in laws for me. I appreciate how they are always willing to help with anything we need, and even helping with things before we even ask. They have always made me feel loved and part of their wonderful family. I'm very blessed to have them. Probably the thing that I love them for the most, is raising the wonderful, honest, hard working, and faithful man that I married.

Day 8 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for my parents. I was very blessed to get them as parents. I'm grateful for the example they have always been, and for teaching me well too. I hope I can be as good of a mother as my mother is.
My dad is such a hard worker. I was used to my dad serving in demanding callings in the church through my whole childhood, but he never complained about it, he is always happy to serve. He was also an amazing institute teacher. I have great memories of sitting around at the dinner table after eating and getting into a spiritual discussion with my dad and feasting on his knowledge. BUT, there is another side to him as well. Many people only know the serious, spritual side to my dad, but he is hilarious too. Just come to any family party and you'll see him telling jokes, and dressing up to the hilt for Halloween. Not quite as serious as others think he is, and I love both sides of him.
My mom... well... she is a saint. She had 10 children. That qualifies as a saint right there. And she raised us to be amazing, funny, loving, faithful, and humble ;) people. As I said before, my dad worked for the church, he said "they pay good money, not a lot of it, but it's good money." My mother took on selling Avon, Fuller Brush, and Watkins door to door so that we could have a decent Christmas every year. She created a loving home where the spirit was present. I also remember as a teen I'd be up laughing and talking with my siblings and she'd sneak downstairs - not to get mad at us, but because she wanted to join in the fun and laugh with us. She'd always want to hear all the details of dates, and be there to love me when my heart was hurting.
So I always thought we "Roylance's" got our goofy, fun side from my dad, because he is hilarious. But the first time I saw my mom with her two sisters I knew we must have gotten a healthy dose of fun from both of them. They were laughing and singing songs together, and before long broke out in a dance with a kick line. (Oh, yes mom, I remember. It was at grandpa's house, and you guys were hilarious!) I love my parents for the wonderful, fun people they are and the great examples and leaders they have been to me.
They are serving a mission in the London, England temple right now. It's hard sometimes having them so far away, like when we get together for family parties, or when I just want to call and chat, but it's the middle of the night there. However, we do get to skype, which I did today and that is a blessing, it makes them seem not so far away. I am so grateful for their missionary service. As my children pray for them every night while "grandma and grandpa are on their mission" I think how neat it is that they are still teaching their family by example and testimony.

Halloween and Children's museum

Our kids were SO excited to go trick or treating. Not like they didn't have enough candy from the Trunk or Treat at our ward from Friday night. (Sorry, no pictures) So we met up with the Maynors and just went trick or treating around our neighborhood. Wow, even with half of the neighborhood being vacant homes they still got tons of candy, and they were happy. I tried to get pictures of them posing, but they were way too excited to stand still for a picture.

The kids had no school on the Friday before Halloween because it was Nevada day. Then the Monday and Tuesday after Halloween were teacher work days. NICE! A 5 day weekend. I personally think they plan it that way so that teachers don't have to deal with the kids that are all sugared up from the candy. On Tuesday we got out of the house and went to the Children's Discovery Museum. My kids love going there. We even took a lunch and had a great afternoon there.

All 6 crazy kids. My kids with their best friends.

Hayden and Katelynn had fun working the cash register and checking Aiden out.

Rebecca just had fun filling her cart with every possible thing that would fit.

Such a hard worker:)

I just like this picture cause you get all the groceries flying off the table in mid air.
Next we went to the auto shop and changed some tires, put some fluid in the car, changed the muffler, you know, all that car stuff.
