Jerry finished his first year of his MBA the last day of April. We took a trip to Las Vegas in early May to visit everyone. It was a WONDERFUL vacation. We were able to spend about 9 days in Vegas. I got emotional as I saw Jerry's parents and brother at the airport to pick us up. The first year of school was.... hard - yes, for me too. I have a hard time with change. Saying good bye to some amazing friends was really difficult. Then moving someplace where I had to start from scratch. At least I did have my brother, John and Sara to be there and help me. But still I lost my friends that were like family to me. Then having Luke, and Jerry was SO extremely busy with school left me feeling like a single mother going through all the new mother hormone changes, and still dealing with almost every aspect of life changing.
So, anyway, I was so excited to go back and visit everyone in Las Vegas.
We went up to our old neighborhood, went to the temple, spent lots of time with friends and family,introduced Luke to his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, ate at Macayos, spent some time on the strip, and just enjoyed.
And in the end, you can see just how sad this little girl was to leave. We all felt the same way. It was a great trip. I know we are where we need to be now, and I'm ok with not living there anymore - for the most part. It's not that I want to live in Las Vegas anymore, but can't I just take everyone that is important to me from there, and transport them here to be a regular part of my life again?? I'm so glad we were able to go!
