Memorial Day Fun

Jerry left for his summer internship a week before Memorial Day.  I wanted to make sure we had a fun holiday before leaving to go join him.  Yay for John and Sara!!  We met up with them at the Columbia Park and Zoo.  We had a picnic at the park and the kids had a blast playing with each other on the equipment.  Then we walked across the street to get some snow cones.  Delish, especially for a hot, summer day.

Next, we walked back over to the zoo part of the park.  How on earth had I lived here for almost a whole year and never been to this cool park and zoo?  It's just a small zoo, but big enough to spend an hour or so with the kids there.  And the best part, it's free!  The kids and I had such a great time.

There was an awesome sea lion exhibit where the kids could sit in the tube so the sea lions swam right over the kids.  So fun.

There was also a prairie dog exhibit.  They had tunnels so the kids could crawl through the tunnels and pop their head up out of the ground, just like a prairie dog.  So I had to get a picture of Hayden, "Prairie Doggin' it" haha.
There is a petting zoo area and my little animal lover Sydney just loved this area.  She gave "pets" and "loves" to every animal there.  So sweet.

Cute cousins posing on the caterpiller outside the butterfly house.

After the zoo we all came back over to my house and John took over grilling duties since Jerry wasn't here.  We had a yummy little BBQ and the kids had fun playing on the slip 'n slide.  It was a wonderful day!
