Day 7 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for bedtime. It's been a long day, and with the time change it definitely didn't equal an extra hour of sleep. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my children. But by the end of a long day, bedtime is a wonderful time for me. Time for me to be Sarah, and not 100% mom. Time when I don't get yelled at for not making a hot dog fast enough, while I'm also completing 3 other things that have been asked of me. I also love my bedtime. I am a night owl, in a family of early birds. Not a good combination. But I love at the end of the day climbing into my cozy bed and drifting off to sleep.

Day 6 of Thanksgiving

I am being a little bit of a copy cat. There was a challenge issued on Facebook to share your testimony on Facebook today. I didn't want to put it on facebook, not that I'm ashamed at all, but I thought it would be more appropriate to put it on my blog.
So today I am thankful for my testimony. I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know he loves me and suffered for my sins so that I could return to live with him again. This knowledge has made me who I am today, and helps me to strive to be a better woman. I have a testimony of the Holy Ghost. I know I have been guided and comforted throughout my life by the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. I also know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet that restored the Church to the Earth, and he translated the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I know the Prophets that wrote the Book of Mormon, really lived. I have no doubt of that. I also know Thomas S. Monson is a living Prophet that guides the church today. I bear this testimony in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Day 5 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for a good cry. Sometimes having a good cry can make me feel so much better. In way way after a good cry I can think more rationally - then again, sometimes not. Still, I love a good cry. (Am I odd or what? And by the way, this list of things I am thankful for are definitely not in any specific order!)

Day 4 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for good books. I love getting caught up in a good book. One thing I love about Vegas is the fall/winter months. Even though it is November 4th, I hung out outside with the kids while they played in their shorts and t-shirts and I got to read a good book. Loved it. I also love a good picture book. Tonight during Hayden's homework he read me a couple small books, then I read one of our favorite picture books, "The true story of the 3 little pigs." During the book, I took a step outside myself and looked at the wonderful little picture. reading with my 3 wonderful kids, and laughing at all the funny parts together. I'm grateful for good books that I read on my own, and together with my children.

Day 3 of Thanksgiving

I have been so blessed with wonderful friends. Being at home with kids all day is wonderful, but exhausting. Adult conversation is so needed. I'm amazed at how generous my friends have been to me. When they know I'm having a hard day they offer to take my kids, or they are just a great listening ear - because everyone knows, I can talk.
Thank you to my wonderful, loving friends. My life wouldn't be the same without you!

Day 2 of Thanksgiving

So, I thought it would be fitting on November 2nd to be thankful for the country I live in, and the right to vote. Although I might not agree with all the decisions our leaders make, or some of the politics in the country, I am still grateful that I live in a country where I have my freedoms, and I have the right to voice my opinion. I'm grateful for the opportunity to vote and have my voice be heard, especially considering that at one point women couldn't vote. I wear the "I Voted" sticker proudly.

A month of Thanksgivings

So I think I'm up to this challenge. I've seen it on a couple blogs today and I think I can find 30 things to be thankful for. So even though I try do my posts in chronological order, you'll have to deal with my Thanksgiving posts in the middle of everything.

So day 1. I'm going to start off simple, (and a little silly) but today I am thankful for candy. I have a major sweet tooth - which is also why I have to exercise - I love it too much. But today was an especially hard day with the kids. They have been on a 3 day sugar binge, and I thought today was the day to stop eating the Halloween candy for me. Well, they still had all the sugar coursing through their veins as I was dealing with my chocolate withdrawls. (yes, it's a very real thing.) I made it till about lunch time. I couldn't keep up with the kids. I gave in and had some of that delicious candy that was hidden in the back of the pantry inside a plastic grocery bag, sitting inside a large bowl. The kids were still on their sugar high all day long, but at least now I was happy and I could keep up with them. So yes, I am thankful for candy/ chocolate/ and I can lump in there, delicious desserts.
