Rebecca's 7th birthday

How is it possible that I blinked and this little baby

has all the sudden become this beautiful 7 year old girl???

She really is 7 going on 17.  She blows me away with her bursting personality.  She is so fun.  She is in 1st grade now and is such a little smarty pants!  She is an excellent reader and writer.  The main thing she struggles with at school is time management, because she loves to add lots of detail to any picture that she draws.  She is obsessed with stuffed animals and is on a mission to collect every webkins or build a bear that has ever been made.  She is very social and has a good group of girl friends.  She has also started taking gymnastics this year and is loving that.

She requested breakfast in bed for her birthday, and we were happy to oblige.  She was able to choose between inviting one friend for a party where we'd go someplace (i.e. spend $$) or spread the $ out with inviting lots of people and have a party here at home.  $ talks to this girl, even though the total would have been the same, but she chose to invite her friend, Charlotte and we went to Build a Bear to make a friend, then ate lunch at the mall before coming home for cake and ice cream and presents.  It was easier for me than doing a big party with tons of friends, so I was totally ok with her choice.

It was a very fun birthday, and we are so happy she joined our family 7 quick years ago!

Halloween Happenings

We love the whole month of October, and especially Halloween!!  The Monday before Halloween we carved pumpkins for Family Home Evening.  A fun and messy activity.

 The finished products.

Luke was very happy with the potato head pirate pumpkin.

I was teaching Sydney's preschool for Halloween week.  We had a fun little Halloween party with the kids.

Halloween night the kids were very excited to head out for trick or treating.  We bought TONS of candy to pass out to trick or treaters, and had TONS left over.  We didn't get one trick or treater because our home is on a busier street and you have to walk a ways to get to our front door.  Fine by me.  We had fun out trick or treating. We drove to a neighborhood not far from us, and I think the whole city decided that would be a great neighborhood too.  I think they must get a lot of traffic there every year because, wow, those homes were decked out with decorations and lots of candy.  It was really fun.  We did lots of walking and wore the kids out.

Sydney was the bride Rapunzel.

Hayden was an endormine - from Minecraft

Rebecca was Spidergirl

Luke was Buzz Lightyear

After we got back from Trick or Treating we had our own little Halloween party with the kids.  we played a lot of the same games we'd played at Sydney's preschool party, and the all loved it.

A week or so before Halloween, my friend, Nicole and I threw a Halloween party at our house.  We invited several families from the ward.  We ate, played games, ate, visted, and did I say ate??  We played fear factor and had several different games that went along with the fear factor.  It was super fun.
